🏛️ **The FDA Wants Psychedelic Treatments to Reach Patients Faster**

**Synopsis:** The FDA is supporting faster development & review of Psychedelic medicines through priority vouchers, finalized clinical-trial guidance & new research. Its efforts include Psilocybin for depression, Methylone for PTSD & an early-stage study of the Ibogaine derivative Noribogaine. These steps advance research & review; they don’t constitute approval.

**My Take:** Good. Urgency belongs in this conversation…people suffering today don’t have unlimited time to wait for another committee. But medical access is only part of the picture. Adults shouldn’t have to prove they’re sick before the state allows them to alter their own consciousness.

💊 **1 Dose of LSD Reduced Anxiety for 12 Weeks in Another Phase 3 Trial**

**Synopsis:** Definium Therapeutics announced that its LSD formulation, DT120, met its primary & all key secondary efficacy endpoints in the Phase 3 Panorama trial for generalized anxiety disorder. A single 100-microgram dose outperformed placebo by 5.1 points on a standard anxiety scale. This is its second successful Phase 3 anxiety trial; the company anticipates filing for FDA approval in the first half of 2027.

**My Take:** 1 dose, 12 weeks. That deserves attention. We’ve become so accustomed to daily psychiatric medication that a different treatment model can sound implausible. Approval still has to be earned, but repeated late-stage results are a lot harder to dismiss than another anecdote about a life-changing trip.

🧠 **LSD, Psilocybin & 2C-B Leave Different Traces in the Brain**

**Synopsis:** A study published in *Nature Communications* compared LSD, Psilocybin & 2C-B using brain scans in rats. Each produced distinct patterns of brain metabolism during the acute experience, with differences still detectable a week later.

**My Take:** “Psychedelics” is a useful category, but a lousy substitute for understanding the substance you’re taking. Different compounds, different experiences, different risks. I’d like to see more comparisons like this & less sweeping language about what “the medicine” does, as though every altered state belongs in the same bucket.
