Instead, the strongest link was positive emotional states: feelings of joy, peace & love. **My Take:** This is important because we have a tendency to lump every Psychedelic into the same bucket. MDMA isn't Psilocybin, and it may not need ego dissolution, God or the cosmos to work. Feeling love, open & connected is enough. ### 🍄 **Psilocybin Shows Promise for Lingering Lyme Disease Symptoms** **Synopsis**: In a small Johns Hopkins pilot study, 20 people with post-treatment Lyme disease received 2 supervised doses of Psilocybin. Participants reported substantial reductions in overall symptoms, depression, fatigue & pain that persisted for months. **My Take:** Exactly the kind of Psychedelic research I want to see more of. Depression gets most of the attention, but the more interesting frontier may be conditions we don't currently treat very well. Leite argues that Western psychedelic medicine risks focusing so heavily on the molecule that it underestimates the role of ritual, culture, community & setting. **My Take:** There's a middle ground between pretending Indigenous traditions have nothing to teach us & romanticizing them as possessing some mystical truth Western science can't touch. Psychedelics have always been more than pharmacology…context matters, culture matters & the molecule matters.
